Our Story
I would like to officially welcome you to Flower Ginny! My name is Anna Land, and this is my husband, Mitch. Mitch farms alongside his dad as well as owning and operating a hog farm. We live on the farm in Xenia, where the flower farm is also located. We have 3 children, Blair, Knox and Drew.
I studied agriculture at SIUC, but I have been a stay at home mom for the past 4 years. Although I have been grateful to have had the opportunity to do this, I am so ready to get my hands dirty and build this business!
My love of flowers started at a young age. When I was around 6 years old, my family went on vacation where I insisted I would smell every flower I saw on that trip. I was the kid in the outfield picking dandelions instead of playing ball. I remember standing behind the farm shed with my grandmother making dolls out of hollyhocks.
As I’ve grown older, flowers are still present in my life - red garden roses at my winter wedding, white roses at my nana’s funeral, and my dad walking in the back door with a vase full of daffodils the spring before he passed away.
We associate flowers with emotions and memories. There aren’t many prominent memories that I have where flowers aren’t involved. I’m so excited to share my love of flowers with all of you; but, perhaps I am the most excited to connect with those of you who have the same appreciation of nature, to learn about your flower memories, to see your joy when you connect a flower to a memory, and to talk about your own cutting gardens!
